The Man with the Golden Gun Poster Analysis


Denotations:
  • A man with a golden gun and two women are shirtless

  • It is starring Roger Moore as James Bond, Britt Ekland as Mary Goodnight, and Maud Adams as Andrea Anders (these actresses are both Swedish)
  • James Bond is series character on a fictional British Secret Service agent and women love him because he is a hero

 Connotations:
  • Helping or caring for women will love you
  • James Bond is a higher-classed, rich-looking man
  • The colour gold is a main effect to men
  • Christopher Lee as Francisco Scaramanga, is a villain in the movie because he wants the golden gun and if someone else has it, he would instantly kill them
  • People say to James Bond, ''Bond, James Bond'' when he is here to show some respect for him
  • There is a lot of body language in this movie to show that people understand it

Analysis
  • Interestingly, one of the main themes in this Bond film was an actual world event – the 1937 Global energy crisis.  By including this theme, the producers are encouraging audiences to consider what might happen if oil really did run out and predict what the outcomes would be for society

  • This film was set in London (UK), Thailand, Lebanon, Macau and Hong Kong (both in Guangzhou, China) to show that where is the background set in or they could put the film in a nice, calm place so that people think it's a non-fiction film.

Research Films

In these types of movies such as Indie, have the same marketing as the British films because they usually earn a lot of money and they have more audiences. American Hollywood is quite different because it can't compete with these similarities, it is different to the British films. I think that Hansel and Gretel and the Witch Hunters would be good as a film because it isn't really a cartoon-based one + it has a lot of box office (views) and budget (money). Aside from additional profanity, gore, and sexual content, and a few extra lines, the extended version features a few extra scenes.   In one scene, Berringer blames the Mayor for the witches' attack and murders him in public.
